Dawaipani

Dawaipani is a tiny Himalayan village in the enthralling Darjeeling district of North Bengal. This village is located on the outer hill from Darjeeling's Tiger Hill.

Dawaipani means 'Medicated water' in the local language, and the name comes from the village's local river (Khola). This village is surrounded by several well-known tea estates, including Glenburn Tea Estate, Lamahatta Tea Estate, Takdah Tea Estate, and lush green pine trees.

This immaculate hamlet sits at an elevation of over 6000 feet. It is about 20 kilometres from Darjeeling town and is surrounded by Himalayan forests. From here, one can see the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga and Darjeeling town.

This out-of-the-way location provides a breathtaking view of Mount Kanchenjunga and the Sandruptse Monastery. Lamahatta, a popular tourist destination, is nearby and can be reached in about half an hour from Dawaipani. Because this hamlet is close to Darjeeling town, which is only an hour away, tourists can do Darjeeling sightseeing as well. They can visit Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, and the Rock Gardens. A toy train ride can also be enjoyed while shopping at the Mall.
